Additionally, here’s a list of common slang words and gang terminology specifically used in Chicago.
Drill – A drill is commonly referred to as killing another gang member, taken from former Chicago gangster Al Capone’s vocabulary.
Stain – A stain is an easy target or victim, usually referring to a robbery or some form of petty theft.
Shorty –A shorty is younger gang member, usually under the age of 18. Shorties are used to commit crimes, and do dirty work. Younger gang members are able to avoid adult sentencing, and usually brought to Juvenile court.
Shooter – Shooters are typically younger gang members, under the age of 18 years old. Typically, shooters have the most violent lyrics and are glorified in songs for their sheer violence and allegiance to their gangs.
On Foenem – Slang for friends, gang members, brothers, and only trusted friends.
Lick Squad – Just like our special forces have units designed for certain missions, gangs have members that specialize in armed robberies and home invasions.
Hit Squad – This usually consists of a group of experience shooters and hitmen who specialize in targeted killings to further criminal gang operations. This usually consists of 1 or more respected shooters who may have already committed a previous murder for their gang.
OG – Sometimes referred to as an “Original Gangster” or an experience older gang member who may act as a mentor, in Chicago, a mother or grandmother may be referred to as an OG. When young men grow up in households without father figures, but have a strong mother, women are more respected than older men.
With the Shit – In Chicago gang culture, the saying “with the shit” is a statement to claim that you’re an active gang member and putting in work for the gang.
Thot – A thot is the term used for a promiscuous young woman. Chief Keef even named an album Thot Breaker in 2017.

Lamron
Coincidentally, Lamron is Normal spelled backwards, and is a block in Englewood, with the street address of S Normal Ave, Chicago, IL.
This area is controlled by the Black Disciples street gang, and can be heard in many songs by popular rappers like Chief Keef, Lil Durk, and Lil Reese.
Fazoland
Additionally, known as Fazoland, or sometimes referred to as Roc Block and Pistol Gang — was made famous by popular drill artists G Herbo and Lil Bibby.

For example, deceased rapper L’A Capone, who was shot to death in 2013, was only 17 years old at the time. L’A was bound to be a star in the making – with songs like “Play For Keeps,” “The Gat,” and “600 Barz.”

In no particular order, here’s a list of the latest drill rappers still making music and making a name for themselves in 2016. Unfortunately, many talented Drill Rappers are behind bars in Cook County Jail. Rappers like Lil Jay, Killa Kellz, and P.Rico are awaiting sentencing or serving jail time.
Lil Durk – After releasing the hit “L’s Anthem” in 2012, Durk was a star in the making. In 2016, Durk released the album “2X,” with features from Ty Dolla $ign, and Dej Loaf.
Fredo Santana – Fredo Santana has moved to Los Angeles, and released his album titled “Fredo Mafia,” with songs featuring Maxo Kream, Yung Gleash, and more.
Montana of 300 – Montana is a true lyricist, showing is skills back in 2014 when he remixed the hit “Try Me” by Dej Loaf. In 2016, Montana released his new album “Fire In The Church.”
Rico Recklezz – After being released from a 45 day jail-stint in 2015, Rico Recklezz has shown he is bound to be a star. Rico has an amazing worth ethic, and in 2016, he released mixtapes “Koolin’ In Hell,” “Tha Restoration,” and “Flattz And Gunz.”
Edai – Edai has created some of the best drill songs in the past, with hits like “WAR,” “Six Double 0,” and “Six Double 0 Part 2.” In 2016, Edai dropped Everyday365, with features with Young Famous, and Doe Boy.
Rico Recklezz has released yet another mixtape in the Summer of 2016. The mixtape is titled “Flattz And Gunz,” Hosted by DJ Cortez, and was released on August 26th. Rico teamed up with I.L Will to create this 20-track mixtape, featuring fellow Chicago rappers Bo Deal, FBG Duck, Sasha Go Hard, and Mikey Dollaz.
Rico and I.L Will recruited Sonny Digital for the track “Zip Em Up.” Sonny Digital is one of the biggest names in the Atlanta Trap scene – creating hits like Drake’s “Tuesday”, Future’s hit single “Same Damn Time”, and many more.

Just 2 Days ago, popular Chicago Rapper King Yella was shot during a BLM Anti-Violence Protest. The drive-by-shooting was caught on camera showing a vehicle shoot several times. After, King Yella explained on his Instagram account saying “Video shoot gone wrong me gettin shot caught on camera while shootin my stop the violence blacklivesmatter video.”
